Let’s be honest, free stuff is great. Most of us are even willing to get over our innate desire to not have to talk to people in order to go and pick up a free bottle of pop or a free snack or something being handed out by unemployed actors in the train station when we’re on our morning commute, that’s how much we like free stuff. We’re not all about handouts, though, with most of us more than willing to work a little bit if we know we’re going to be getting something in return.
It’s also fun to be part of a club; knowing that we’re getting something that other people aren’t. Sometimes that can be as mundane as access to a gym, other times it can be something with your mates involving special handshakes and avoiding spending time with Weird Jim. Both of these facts have been taken into account by Mr. Green when they were coming up with their latest offer, which is essentially a promotion rewarding customers for loyalty. Instead of calling it a loyalty offer, though, they’ve named it their Free Bet Club, which does exactly what it says on the tin.
How Do You Join the Club?
As with all clubs, there are certain things you need to do in order to be accepted as a member. Thankfully, none of these are embarrassing or dangerous, so you won’t need to run around the neighbourhood naked or throw a kettle over the roof of a pub. In fact, you don’t even need to opt-in, as you do with similar promotions run by other bookmakers.
To be part of Mr. Green’s Free Bet Club, all you need to do is bet £25 or more on accumulators of your choice every week and in return you’ll be given a £5 free bet. That’s it. That’s the major thing you need to do. There are other minor requirements within that, obviously, but in essence it’s that simple – in return for you betting £25 on accas over the course of a week you’ll get a £5 free bet. Winner, winner, chicken dinner.
What Are the Rules of the Club?
The first rule of Free Bet Club is tell everyone about Free Bet Club. The second rule of free bet club is to make sure you bet £25 or more on accumulators with at least three legs. The third rule… I can’t be bothered doing that any more, so assume all things from now on are the rules of Free Bet Club. Starting with the fact that your accas need to be placed on sports.
Your bets need to be placed at any time from 00:00 on a Monday through to 23:59 on the Sunday of the same week and those bets must be settled during that period too. Do that and you’ll be credited with your £5 free bet by 7pm on the Monday of the following week. You’ll also need to make sure that your accumulators have combined minimum odds of 2/1 (3.00).
What Are You Not Allowed to Do?
All you need to do is spend £25 on accas with those minimum odds, but it’s entirely up to you how you do it. You can place five bets of £5 each, or you can go for one big bet of £25. As long as you hit that magic number then you’re golden as far as Mr. Green’s concerned. What you can’t do is place system bets, which includes the likes of:
- Super Heinz
You’ve also got to make sure that your bet is placed using real cash. That means that you can’t use a previously awarded free bet token for your stake money. You’ll have to take a pass on Each-Way bets if you want to be part of the club, plus Forecasts and Tricasts won’t count either. There are other things that will result in your bet not counting towards the offer, including:
- Placing bets on the Asian market
- Legs being made void, reducing you to less than a three-fold acca
- Events being postponed for longer than two days
- Betting on Mr. Green
- Betting on something settled outside the time period – in that case the bet will count towards the following week’s qualifying criteria
How Does the Free Bet Work?
Sometimes I ask whether or not the offers I tell you about are worth doing, but I’m not going to do that in this case. Accumulators are fun to play and are one of the most popular bets in the business, so the likelihood is that you’re going to hit the £25 minimum requirement to earn the free bet and, as I’ve already said, free stuff is great. Instead I’m going to have a quick look at how the free bet works.
To begin with, it’s important to know how long the free bet lasts for. As I mentioned before, it will be credited to your account by 7pm on the Monday of the week following your accumulator bets having been placed. It will then last until 23:59 of the week you received it.
There are no restrictions on what type of bet you can use it on. You don’t have to use it for another accumulator if you don’t want to. You can use it for any bet type, just as long as you’re betting on a sport. You’ll have to use it in one go, given that you won’t get any change back if you bet on something worth less than a fiver. You also won’t get an additional bet if you only use some of the token.
You will only get one free bet per week through the Free Bet Club, but you can be a member of the club for as long as you like. Provided you keep spending £25 on accas, you’ll keep getting £5 free every week. The only thing you’ll need to remember is that you won’t get your £5 free stake back with any winnings, once you’ve placed your bet.
